About Alderwood Softball

We are located in Alderwood, a district of Toronto. We have been around since 1949, over sixty-five years and have been the home for many children in Etobicoke to play softball.

1970 Alderwood Softball League Jacket

1970 League Jacket & Crest

This 1970 Spring/Fall red nylon jacket was donated by Daniel MaCarthy to ASA in 2009. Note the colour red, a predominate colour for the next decade. All the all-star teams where red and white. I guess the little one sided zipper pocket was for your game bubble gum.

The Crest on the jacket was suited to the times. It was a felt stamping on a canvas backing and glued onto stitchable backing. This was the only year known for this crest. This could possibly be the first known Alderwood jacket and league crest.
