It is nice to see the Photographer sponsoring a team, A Champion team at that. By the looks of fashion styles and two of the boys with Buddy Holly glasses, I think this picture was from early 60’s. This may also be a Peewee team not Squirts. The Sponsor was located at 836 Brown’s Line.

The Game, which tied the best of three was played at Etobicoke Valley with record crowds. The next game is for the Championship of Ontario.

In a 3 game decision for the Ontario Championship, Grimsby would beat Alderwood 8-1in the opener due to illegal pitches. In game two pitcher Rod Favreau would make a comeback by sticking out nine players and obtaining a no-hitter game. Alderwood forced Grimsby to a third game with their 5-0 win.

Alderwood wins the Metro Toronto Softball Championship in final against North York Softball League rival Willowdale 12-1.

In a bid for the quarter finals in the Provincial title, Alderwood would lose to Willowdale 5-1.

In this article, Alderwood is rated as one of the top Midget teams in Ontario – If not the TOP team in the province.
